Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Burnout. Paradise. Indeed.

Wow… Why the hell did I wait so long? I had no money, I guess, and I had other things on my plate, but WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT SO LONG?

For someone like me, who has played and LOVED every iteration of Burnout since its first release (except for the miserable-looking DS version), including the madly awesomeful PSP versions — for someone like me to have waited so long to play Burnout Paradise… It’s just plain WRONG.

You know what though? The demo really does the game NO justice. Paradise is different to the others. You really need to get into it for a bit — you really have to drive around for a long time, crashing, running random races (and losing a lot of them), and just having a blast, before you realise the gloriousness of the game. The demo is just too different and feels wrong… It’s really the main reason I took so long to get this one. I wasn’t impressed, and I just didn’t get it.

And then it was released as a 3GB+ download on the PSN for $50. So buy it I did. And I have been converted. If you own a PS3, and you have it connected to the Internet, put down the pineapple and buy this game now. You will not regret it… Best $50 I’ve spent so far!

Actually, now that I think about it, lucky it worked! Most games I’ve downloaded from the Oz PSN just don’t want to work because the game is PAL and the system is NTSC… Rejoice, for I thought not about the possibilities! Phew!
