Good food, good god!

I’m very lucky… But it may also be my downfall.
You see, Mihoko can cook. She is friggin awesome, and makes restaurant-quality food every night of the week. It absolutely rules. Last night we had yakiniku — absolutely perfect. In fact, it tasted even better than many yakiniku restaurants (see picture — although the colour is crappy due to nighttime and flash photography). In fact, maybe I will have to write about Japanese restaurants, give people a taste of the awesomeness that is over there.
But it’s not just the Japanese she does well — although she does do a wicked tempura, and she’s tops at sculpting sushi — she does all sorts of food well. In reality, yakiniku is Korean, and other such Japanese-style Asian foods are also amongst her specialties — mabo dofu, subuta, and so on (but she is yet to perfect ramen… actually she’s yet to try ramen)…
Then there’s curry. There are two things she does well — Italian (although it’s not too hard to make good Italian), and curry. All kinds of curry. Green, red, Indian, J-style soup curry… Everything. And these are my favourites. Sure, she starts with a packet for the base, but she adds to it, and has her own little twist, then there’s the presentation (which actually IS pretty important, and has a hell of an effect on the overall meal). Absolutely magnificent.
But why is it my downfall? Well, because I love to eat, of course. I get as much into me as I can - probably more than I need. And I get what I want — always great food, and always very filling. Oh well, can’t win them all. Think I’d prefer to have the wicked awesome food and find it hard to lose weight than be skinny and eat crap.
Anyway, just had to write something because she surprises me several times a week — last night with the yakiniku, and tonight with green chicken curry, which she served with vegetables and home-made roti bread.

Thank you for your compliment. I am proud of compliment from you! I will try to cook health food from now!
