Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Sometimes things just don’t go your way

September 10th, 2008 Posted in Personal

Yeah, my notebook is still being “fixed”. I’ve cracked the massive shits, and told them to pull their finger out of their ass and return it, and stop telling me it is still under repair. They better offer me something to appease me, because at the moment I’m pretty close to asking for my money back and buying a Toshiba or something. Prior to buying my laptop, I heard good things about Acer’s service, but since I bought it I’ve heard only bad things, and now I’ve experienced it myself. Lucky me. But that’s not what I’m complaining about.

I had an appointment at a public hospital (yep — there’s my error)… Originally it was for the 1st of September. Then they changed the date. By mail. So I requested for my half day of annual leave to be rescheduled to the 8th.

On the 8th, I asked for it to be rescheduled to the 10th, because I found out it had been changed a second time by the hospital. Awesome, but that’s what you have to expect from the public system, I guess. Things seemed to go well, but I found out my half day had become a full day of leave in all the confusion. I took that as a positive.

Anyway, we got to the stupid appointment about 30 mins in advance — sometimes the traffic DOES go your way… But not when you want it to. Stupid traffic.

There were a few people there before us, so we knew we would be waiting a while. Plus, it was a public hospital. Anyway, we waited an hour before the doctor came out of his office to call our name, and another couple came running in the door of the hospital, screaming that they were “sorry they were late”. The doctor laughed, and told them he was sorry, but they would have to wait at least half an hour (they had arrived spot-on-time for their appointment).

At this, the rude assholes started yelling and complaining that they had to go to work and they had things to do and they called the hospital to make sure they were on time and if the hospital was not on time they should have told them so they couldn’t wait because they had things to do afterwards and they couldn’t re-schedule because they were busy and blah blah blah. I was about to tell them that they were not the only people there that had better things to do than sit in a hospital, but the doctor turned, looked straight at me, and with a curt wave of the hand ushered them into his office. He then shuffled over to apologise.

Turns out he had told them they could come at that time and he felt responsible, but they were also difficult people so he didn’t want to upset them. We are good people. We accepted his apology. Begrudgingly. The doctor was nice, the rude anuses were gonna cop an eyeful of hatred when they came out.

In the end, we waited a total of 1 and a half hours. When the couple came out (they took a little under half an hour — the most out of anybody before them), they rushed out without looking at those of us waiting, and left swiftly, putting on their sunglasses as they walked through the halls because they were so cool (they were young, dressed farily well, and had terrible haircuts). Sure — you use the public hospital like the rest of us plebs. Dicks… you’re as plain and simple as the rest of us.

Why the hell do some people think they have the right to do such things? OK, she had to go to work, but the rest of us had taken the day off, or planned things in advance. Where did she work that she had to start in the late afternoon? None of my business, but she wasn’t exactly turning the cranks that make the world spin on its axis.

Some people are just rude, lack manners, and think they are the shit. They have to realise that they ARE shit, just like everyone else (OK, we aren’t all shit like them, but at least most of us don’t put ourselves on a pedestal). If you’re that important, and you need things to go smoothly (or more smoothly), get health insurance — that’s what it’s for! Those are the benefits! If you are that cool, and you’ve got the money — do it!

Otherwise you are nothing, and you’re just rude, worthless people. If those kinds of people all suddenly up and died, the world would be a better place, and Australia would suddenly lose half of its population… at least. Sorry… I’m usually very nice to people, but there are so many crap people in this world it makes my brain hurt sometimes. Then again, who’s to say I’m not one of them?
