A quick post of Nintendo goodness
July 27th, 2008 Posted in GamesOK, not much to say here, but following Nintendo’s poor performance at E3 (Wii Music, while an interesting concept, looked like a terribly realised kid’s game… sigh), the Shig-meister (Shigeru Miyamoto, otherwise known as “The friggin’ MAN”) has been reported to have announced in an interview with the Telegraph that Nintendo are working on core Nintendo titles… As well as the casual one’s that are raking in the money for them. I guess they had to say that because people were getting sick of hearing how innovative they were — we want Mario! It’s not a terrible write-up either… Give it a read.
So apparently Mario, Zelda, and Pikmin are in the making. Good, because I never got a good go at Pikmin, we had that when I was in my “prefer-to-get-wasted-and-watch-my-housemates-play” stage. Sigh, glad I moved on. Now I drink AND play.

Yeah Nintendo announce 3 games for the hard core gamers…all three are old licences and going to be more of the same. Bitter? Yes! Give us some new stuff nintendo!
Yeah, you’re right. I meant to say that in the post, but I got caried away by thoughts of Pikmin. Super Mario Galaxy was great, and I’m sure the next one will be too, but Zelda was extremely samey — been there, done that, Nintendo. Sorry Nintendophiles, but it’s true. Zelda:TP was OK for a while, but I got bored and gave up.
Of course, it could be argued Nintendo ARE bringin us new stuff, but I see what you mean — a new IP for the hardcore gamer would be nice, too.
