Big Brother comes to the inevitable

And so it ends. It had to end sometime. It certsialy couldn’t kep going forever, and if I had watched it evey year, I probably wouldn’t care. But I missed about 5 seasons. So I kind of miss it. It was a good show. In the end, it was just another thing that it was popular to NOT like, where 8 years ago, it was the main topic around the water tank. Whatever — TV is TV, in the end, you can enjoy watching 20 different versions of the same thing (CSI, CSI: Miami, and so on and so forth), or you can enjoy watching people get exploited on TV. I know I did. That said, though, it’s not really exploitation if they sign up for it. But what of the last series?

It was a bit meh, really. As usual, the interesting people left early, and one of the boring people ended up winning. Really Australia, how did the old lady deserve to win over everyone else? Sure, she was a lovely old dear, but shit — she didn’t add anything to the show but maturity. And that detracts from it. Big Brother should be about dickheads being just that. Being young and dumb is what makes Big Brother worth watching.

Then again, I saw parts of the 2004 or 2005 series, where they filled the house with young pretty people, and boy, did that look about as interesting as sawing off your own nipples with a rusty tin can. I’m not against Terri being in the house, I just don’t think she should have won. She did add some sort of value to the house, but not enough to win. She just won because the Australian public lacks the ability to make up their own minds. Anyway, enough of my bitterness towards Australian naivete, the world keeps a-turnin’.

But as much as Big Brother was a bit lacking, I found myself watching it daily, and now I find I don’t know what to do with my time at night… Sigh. Slave to the screen — he says, as he adds words to yet another screen… hehe…

Do I think it’s over? No, not really, there’s still money to be made. Not the same as what was there when it first started, but there’s life in the old dog, it just needs a new format.
