PS3 update 2.41 available now in Oz
July 8th, 2008 Posted in GamesUpdate 2.40, which was released last week, caused a fair bit of controversy when a whole bunch of PS3 users complained that it ‘bricked’ their consoles. Not me, mine worked like a charm… But I won’t discredit the fact that many people did complain about this, and it prompted Sony to retract the update, which makes me think there must have been a fair amount of truth to the reports.
Anyway, Sony got right on top of it, and released 2.41 within a week. Not sure if there’s anything else in the update, or if it is just the same update without the ‘brickiness,’ but it’s available now. Hope they continue the investigation into what happened, though, to prevent it from slipping through their fingers again.
