Upcoming Episodic title: American McGee’s Grimm

While doing my daily check of news, I decided that there wasn’t too much going down today. Well, nothing that I wanted to comment on or point out, anyway. So I went and checked out some of the other sites I like — one’s that I don’t check as often. Turns out I should be looking around more often… Like, every day. Otherwise I would have missed out on this little tidbit at 1up.com. A true episodic game - weekly, with each episode set to last only about 30 minutes. Great idea! depending on the price…
It describes a new episodic game soon to be available at GameTap (something else I didn’t know about and will now be checking out — for you good people, of course). The game is called American McGee’s Grimm, and it is intriguing my little pantaloons right off. Sounds like a new take on the Katamari Damacy idea — minus the control scheme, of course. Rather than pushing around a little ball and collecting everything in sight, you control a strange little dude, who corrupts everything in sight. Cool.
I missed out on American McGee’s previous game, American McGee’s Alice (I understand that he has an interesting take on things, but I’m not sure that chucking your name in every title is necessary… whatever tickles your fancy, I suppose). It was apparently an awesome game, I always wanted to try it, but never got around to it… Sigh… You can also check out American McGee’s Blog here, but there’s not much there, really. Well, I didn’t poke much below the surface, to be honest. Anyway, I’m impressed by this little title, and also by GameTap, so (depending on the price) it’s probably something I’m gonna get into… Will be taking a good look at GameTap over the weekend, so I’ll get back to you about it…
