Sharon Stone apologises
May 31st, 2008 Posted in NewsRemember Sharon Stone’s comments about China’s recent misfortunes and karma? Well, apparently she has seen the error of her ways. An apology was released by Dior (yes, the label) in Ms. Stone’s name, which was released more to save the company’s name than to save her own, in my opinion. Ms. Stone herself has also expressed some dissatisfaction with the wording of the apology, which she suggests may have been edited or rewritten before being released, as it differed from the statement that was written (or at least approved) by her.
Apology wording notwithstanding, I think the Stone-meister is being honest. Seriously, we all think some f***ed-up things sometimes, and very occasionally, those f***ed-up things can come out at the wrong times– particularly at the end of a very long session of successive interviews at Cannes, as was allegedly the case here. Sure, it’s an easy excuse, and a bit of a cop-out, but it’s also a valid excuse, I reckon. I know I’ve done some pretty stupid things in my life (most of which involved alcohol, but not all, and that’s the point), and in her quotes from the above article, Ms. Stone refers to Herself as a “ding-dong”, so she seems to know she did something pretty dumb.
Yep. It was extremely dumb, kinda cold, and super heartless, but I’m sure even Sharon Stone cringed when she relived that moment over in her head. And you can’t be angry at a ding-dong, you just can’t.
Hehe… ‘dong’… hehe.
