Big Brother Australia Update
May 28th, 2008 Posted in Movies/TVOK, so the series has been going on for a few weeks, several housemates have come and gone, and a whole lot of drama has occurred. Well, some drama. Let’s look at what’s gone down, shall we?
Terri was voted out of the house on the very first night and, as a result, she chose that Nobbi be sequestered to the Combi in the backyard- a place he has remained for over a month now, poor bloke. Then, not much later, she went back in — with “Party Boy” Corey in tow — and the three most popular web entries: Barney, Michael, and Nathan. Not long later, Barney and Michael were gone, and then Corey was gone, too- and Terri was reinstated as a housemate.
At the first Friday Night Live show, Rima broke her leg, was taken to hospital, and didn’t come back. The following weekend, Saxon was the first evictee, and he decreed that Bridgette must lose all of her possessions, and she was not a happy girl. The next evictee was Rebecca, and she made Dixie the cleaning lady, which brought out the smart-ass in her, which has become a bit of a mainstay these days (and an annoying one at that). The following eviction was a surprise double- Nathan and David were booted, and they made Travis and Bianca the Early Bird and Night Watch Woman, respectively. Which brings us up to date. So, what do you think of the events so far?
For me, I was disappointed Saxon left, because he was a bit of an interesting character, and I really think he was trying to change, like he said he was. I was also a bit sad that Rima broke her leg, because she was interesting- a feisty little bean. Was pretty happy that Nathan was chosen to become a housemate, but not so when he was evicted. Yeah, he wasn’t handling his relationship with Renee very well, but I think that was more a result of him having a fear of broadcasting his relationship than him leading her on (not that it was a rational or understandable fear, but we have our foibles), like he was portrayed as doing. Oh well, so be it.
The others? Meh. Rebecca was extremely vain, but had little reason to be, in my opinion. And Dave? He was an ordinary guy, with an extra-ordinary story. Would have been interesting to learn more about him if he stayed, but he didn’t, and it’s no major loss, I think.
Those remaining? Well, Terri is giving it a good go, and she’s doing well; she’s much more mature than the rest of the group. Many of them annoy me (particularly Bridgette and her childish selfishness; Dixie and her bipolar reactions; Bianca, enough said; and Rory… just because), but that makes for good TV, I guess… And it doesn’t make them unlikeable people. They are very young and impulsive and selfish, but weren’t (or should I say ‘aren’t'?) we all? Personally, I reckon Nobbi, Renee, and Travis will go the long haul, but Nobbi will take it out… Then again, I’ve never been right about much of anything before, so we will see…
And Corey? Much like the rest of Oz, I kinda warmed to the dude… Then he was let out and the fame went to his dumb little head. That’s not nice of me, I guess. In reality, I tried to get into clubs with a fake ID myself, and have been at numerous parties that the police were called to- it’s just that he went in there to try to make Australia rethink their opinion of him, he should have been a little more careful when he left… That’s all I’ll say about that.
So… yeah, that’s my little update. Originally, I was going to make a little weekly report, then I realised that I didn’t really have that much to say… Well, turns out I have a bit, hehe. Getting sick of everyone threatening to leave over petty things though… row a little backbone. And all the tears and “miss my family” crap- IT’S BEEN ONE MONTH! You’ll be fine. Sure, people are different, but the site is called Vent for a reason. I feel better now (the question mark is optional,
).
