Skating games and the Wii Balance Board…
May 12th, 2008 Posted in GamesI have heard tell (here and here) that there are plans to use the Wii Balance Board for future skating games, the first being a Wii version of skate. Personally… I’m not sure what to think about this… I mean, offhand, it seems really kick-ass… As an ex-skater (well, more of a wannabe skater, who’s dreams went to hell the minute I moved to Japan– not because you can’t skate there, but more because there is so much ELSE to do), I really like the idea, but.. is it gonna work?
Of course, I don’t have Wii Fit, so I don’t have a balance board myself, but I can’t imagine how you would pull off an ollie, let alone anything else… So it can’t be that realistic… What do you think? If you have a Balance Board, or if you’ve used one, could it work? I mean, given the fact you can’t jump on the board, would it be worth it?
Then again, the designers would want to be thinking about all these things when coming up with the controls, so… Well, they BETTER be thinking about it! I can’t afford to fork out a hundred bucks for a crap video game, these days!
