Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Weekend BBQ: Hamburgers, as promised…

Awesome Hamburger

Here we are, another weekend, another BBQ. Getting cold now, starting to wish I decided to start having a weekly BBQ 6 months ago…

But no matter, BBQs are easy, slam the meat on, close the hood, drink beer, and check regularly. Not much of a big deal, to be honest… Rain or shine, I can have a barbie! The important thing is the beer!

Anyway… this week, as promised, I got my hands dirty and made hamburgers. Often, when people make hamburger patties, they make the mistake of making them too small… By forgetting the general rule that meat contracts as it is cooked, I have often had to contend with a tiny meat patty on a big bun…

Well, not this time! I made super awesome happy big ones, and they turned out to be EXACTLY the same size as the buns they were placed on– and Mihoko made those! In tune, we are…

You may notice the perfectly cooked steak on the right– I have created a new law of BBQ- cooking meat 10 cms higher on a BBQ than you would regularly results in awesomeness. Perhaps next week I will post a photo of my barbie-rig, to help explain this process… Works a treat– I don’t usually burn meat, but I find it is often dry… With this process, it turns out POIFECTO!

So there you go.. Sweet hamburgers (actually probably the best home-made hamburgers I’ve had), and perfectly cooked meat- Nice.
