Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Weekend BBQ: Friday Edition

April 25th, 2008 Posted in Weekend BBQ

ANZAC Day BBQHello, and welcome to another intriguing edition of the Weekend BBQ. Today, as you can see, we had a relatively average barbie, some chicken, steak, and chips– but it was what we did with it that made it so kick anus.

The chook wings were skewered Japanese Yakitori-style, and were held (mechanically) some 20-odd centimetres above the naked flames, which resulted in almost roasted chicken flesh. Yum. Crispy.

The steak, which was awesome in itself, was given a coating of garlic, cracked pepper, crushed red pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and red wine. Friggin’ awesome.

The chips? Well, they were just cooked slowly in oil on the barbie, and that’s all they needed to become the super-wicked chips that they were.

Next week? I might mix me up some minced animal, and make some good ole hamburgers… The missus might even make the hamburger rolls…
