Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Death of a TISMman…

April 24th, 2008 Posted in Music

While listening to TripleJ today, as I generally do, I heard some sad news. Tokin Blackman, guitarist for the Melbourne band, TISM, passed away recently. His real name was James Paull (yes, they did have real names under the masks and the aliases), but he was also referred to as Jock (not to be confused with Jock Cheese, another member of the band). For all intents and purposes, he seemed to have been a real musician, unlike the other hacks in TISM (I kid, I kid! Or do I?)… And… that’s all I know about the man. And perhaps that’s the way it should stay, as TISM did pride themselves in the fact that they weren’t well known (although their off-stage, real-life personalities can be found by searching the net)…

That’s about all I wanted to say. One of my favouritesterest bands, who seem to have fallen off the Earth (check out their official website), have lost one of their own. Peace to you, brother!

Damn, I love TISM… Gonna have to post about them now… Sigh…
