Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Rock Band? Great! - if you’re American…

April 14th, 2008 Posted in Games, News

I SO want the game “Rock Band”. I would be absolutely ecstatic if it were available in Australia. It’s been out in the US for quite some time now (hence the link in this post), but is really only worth it for the US Rock Band Special Edition for PS3residents. If you have a US credit card, and a shiteload of the dollars, go ahead, get it. But for us down under, it’s not worth it- too expensive, and not many people DO have access to a US credit card in order to get the DLC. If you’re American, though, what are you waiting for!? All I can imagine about this game is AWESOMENESS- guitar and bass, drums and vocals- you ARE a band (albeit a simplified one)… I love Guitar Hero and Singstar, and I especially love my Karaoke, so this game looks like the bomb-diggety (how the hell do you spell that? I hardly even SAY it let alone spell it… but what’s done is done)… And the price isn’t actually that bad… for Americans.

Then came news of the European release, and now my dream seems to have been smashed, pissed on, bottled and sold to the highest bidder. Seems that (bullshit bullshit) means that Europe –and therefore likely Australia– have to pay a hell of a lot more than our friends across the ocean.. great… Then I see this post, which suggests that the game might not even get down under at all! Pants to that! Sad Panda! Sucks to be Australian, let me tell you… This will DEFINITELY be a story I will be following.

And just because I like the pain, I checked out the DLC available in America… Hot Damn! Singstar is great for Karaoke fans like me, but it just does’t have this level of balls-out rock songs! Sigh…
