Complaining and praising… Whatever is required

Backdated: Setting up sucks- Oh! ”Slash” is a good book!

Yeah… been spending the past couple of days redesigning my page… For someone who’s VERY new at this, I don’t think I’ve done too bad a job! Looking not so bad, but does seem like it’s going to take me some time to actually decide on the final look of the page… Stupid brain, not wanting to make decisions… Anyways… Kind of hoping the wife will use some of her time making me a little logo, as my artistic skills are… wanting, to say the least. But then again, she has plenty of stuff to do herself, what with the designing of her own site… Sigh.

SlashAnyhow… I recently read the book “Slash”, a biography of the guitarist of the same name (obviously). Not expecting much (as the last biography I read was the Jason Donovan one, which didn’t seem to have been edited before it was printed…), I took my time, and read it over several weeks, and I must say I was surprised! Not at all the self-indulgent, “fuck, I rock” kind of crap I was expecting! Yeah, ok, there was a bit of that, but the dude DOES rock. It was more just a statement of fact, and it was interesting to read about the heyday of Guns ‘n’ Roses from an integral member of the band… Whether or not everything that was stated in its pages are true is another story, but it was quite a riveting read- I found myself reading more than playing video games over the week! I highly recommend this one to fans of Slash, or any of the bands he has played in, although only the last chapter or two are devoted to Velvet Revolver… Still…

Oh, and Happy Easter, if you’re into that kind of thing. Had a big family do, myself, wasn’t so bad, just a helluva lot of food.. and chocolate!

Well, back to the designing of the page, takes too damned long, but it’s pretty interesting- as my my wife says “I like it- because the words change the picture!”
